I <3 Indie Comix! I love making little stuffed animals, especially custom ones based on art and comics created by my friends. I am like a happy elf making toys that make people happy. I also love painting. I love the feeling I get when I get inspired, I love planning out the composition, I love filling up a blank canvas, I love blending the colours and creating the textures, I love being able to visually make a point, and I love getting other people to think and have a reaction. I am learning quilting. I have made two quilts so far, and have plans for many, many more. I also make jewelry, books, baked goods, and do graphic design, prep

To gain inspiration, one must have experiences. Experiences are observations made with the human senses. Observations of events and objects in their surroundings. Observe something, sense it, gauge your reaction. Reflect upon how the event/object made you feel or react and let it guide your mark-making. To make art, you have to have experiences. Fabricated or natural. Go places. Try things. See. Hear. Taste. Try recreational drugs. (or not) Observe, Feel, Reflect, Record, Repeat.

Nature doesn't mind that you copy her and take credit while she does all the work. Getting inspiration from nature is... natural... and part of being human. There are so many wonderful abstract shapes and colours out there, pre-arranged as randomly or symmetrically as you please, all you have to do is record them in your own way. It's part of our unique social experience to say "hey, look at this cool thing i saw, this experience i had, and here is how i see it and feel about it! do you see and feel the same thing, or something different?"
